Puppy Love

Miss E and Mr P made a beautiful Valentine for my dog, Penny. They love Penny so much they included her in the long list of their Valentine recipients. They even put a puppy on the front of it so Penny could relate.

When I got home from Phoenix, I gave Penny her Valentine. She loved it so much she licked it.

The sweet love these two kids have for my furry little puppy makes my heart swell with happiness.

Spring is NOT here

So, we have this major storm here on the East Coast. It was said that we may have between 6"-12" of snow. March is definitely not Early Spring as mentioned to me by some friends here who I think we're just trying to make me feel better about my first East Coast Winter. So, I'll keep my giant Eskimo-like coat out for a a few more weeks and hunker down until I can walk outside with no socks on!

Philadelphia Flower Show

Husband and I had heard the Philadelphia Flower Show is amazing. So we went. Here's what we saw. I wish I could put the scent in with the photos - it was delightful!!

White Table

It's cooler in person!

Great color!

Love the mix or orchids and succulents.

A rainbow of round vases!

What a sweet little birdie.

A taste of home.

Sunshine & Chips & Salsa

Tomorrow I am heading west for sunshine and chips & salsa.

I packed shoes that don't require socks and tops that have short sleeves. DO YOU KNOW HOW EXCITING THAT IS?????

I am going to spend some time at my brother's cabin with his family. One of the things I miss most about home is my brother's cabin in Pinetop. I hadn't really thought about it before I left for Pennsylvania but that's where we'd go to just get away and relax. We'd eat well, play games, take walks, and best of all get to spend the days together. It was a great little retreat for all of us. I'm so glad to be able to go back. Miss E and Mr P will be there in all their glory and I'm sure I can convince them to get donuts with me at least every morning! Now, if Husband and Penny were coming too, it'd be perfect.

Off to try to pack it all in one carry-on size bag! Wish me luck!!

Spring in Pinetop, AZ

Winter in Pinetop, AZ

Husband got the hint . . .

. . . and I got this!

5oz of pure peanut butter and chocolate happiness in the shape of a heart.

Hope your Valentine's Day is as sweet as mine.

XOXO.

Valentine's Week

I'm a Valentine's Day fan. I love the holiday. Always have.

I like sending cards to people to let them know that I'm thinking about them. I like wearing red or pink or both. I like candy. I love chocolate (especially with peanut butter inside it!). Flowers are one of my favorite things. And hearts are always fun especially candy ones with words on them.

Now, I will also admit I am not a romantic. I cry at Folger's commercials, but that's different. Husband is Latin. It's in his blood to be romantic. It comes with the dark curly hair. I love that about him. He's taking me out tomorrow - he has the whole night planned. I can't wait!

Our gifts this year to each other were a bit different than the usual hearts and candy. I bought Husband sunglasses and he got me cycle shoes for my class at the gym. But, the romantic part of our gift giving was that we got to be together. Husband took me to the cycle store and sat with me and tired them on and asked a lot of questions to the guy at the store so we were sure to buy the perfect pair. I took Husband to an eyeglass shop that I had chosen specifically and we spent an hour just trying on different styles and talking to the manager and choosing the perfect pair. It was such fun to do these thing together for each other. Really, the gifts were just the excuse.

And yesterday, these arrived at my door. Love!

Now, if only a Reese's Big Cup were in my future . . . it would be the perfect Valentine's week! (HINT)

Brain Freeze

My posts have been a bit sporadic lately. I apologize. I think I have brain freeze over here on the East Coast.

I'm ready for Spring. My coat and I have become too close. We go everywhere together. I'm not sure I need a giant, white, puffy creature with me all the time. I'm ready for a lighter, more colorful creature to come with me outside. I'm also ready to say goodbye to socks. I know that sounds silly but I love to wear shoes without socks and really, you just don't do that here in the winter. Socks are a must or I swear one of your toes might fall off.

People here say March is "early Spring". I have no idea what that entails. All I hear is the word "Spring" and that excites me! Early, late, middle, half, in between, first, last . . . whatever you are, SPRING, just get here!

If this dress and these shoes from Anthropologie don't make you long for Spring, you must be . . . well,   . . . my father!
